Closely related to the electronics backlog is the unique problem I have observed in many homes: the spaghetti of cords – or “cord orphanage” that linger longer than welcome.
We stash them in drawers, zip tie them, and stuff them in boxes.
I divided my cords by A/V cords and computer cords and that was very helpful. (To read more unique ways I organize my own home, check out my “At Home with Vicki” blog here).
You could even separate out those for handheld devices if you have enough quantity of cords.
I pruned the ones I knew I did not need – like extra phone cords and old device cords. Yet the mysteries or replacements I saved for my IT guru – my dear husband – to look at. He ousted some more, and the remainder I store in labeled gym baskets for occasional use.
This simple project will clear out a little real estate and may even inspire the refreshing of junk and desk drawers and stashed boxes!
